Transforming Lives in Barnet: A Partnership with All Aboard Shops

We are delighted to share that thanks to a generous donation from All Aboard Shops, Young Barnet Foundation will be running our successful Space2Grow funding programme for training & professional development again. The All Aboard contribution symbolises more than financial assistance: it represents a commitment to support Barnet’s vital voluntary sector by offering community organisations access to professional training and development for their staff, volunteers and trustees that may otherwise be out of reach.

The grant will help Barnet’s voluntary sector, which tirelessly works to offer essential services, educational programmes, and developmental opportunities to those in need. This financial injection comes when the need for such support is critical: All Aboard support will help the voluntary sector to continue supporting children and their families during this cost-of-living crisis.

All Aboard empowers our community organisations to create a more inclusive, supportive, and nurturing environment for our young people to grow, learn and succeed. This grant is an investment to strengthen the building blocks of our community’s future, and shows that every child and young person in Barnet deserves the chance to reach their full potential.

Alan Haynes, Chief Executive Officer of All Aboard Shops Limited, states, "As a community-based charity, our ability to make grants to organisations as worthy as yours is only possible due to the ongoing and sustained support of the wider community." This quote highlights the importance and potential of community engagement.

Neil Taylor, Head of Community Services at YBF, reiterates, “The value and impact of this donation is hugely positive: this fund helped nearly 100 employees, trustees and volunteers from 13 community organisations to upskill in areas including safeguarding, nutrition, first aid, mental health support and more. This improves the scope and quality of services offered to our young people.”

All Aboard funds many local initiatives. You can gather precious pre-loved items to find new homes by participating in collection drives. Our collective efforts make a difference. We also encourage you to spread the word about the fantastic range of items available in All Aboard's shops across Barnet and on their eBay site. Each item you donate, each story you share, and each purchase you make is a step toward building a stronger, more supportive Barnet for our young people. Find out more about them here -

YBF will let our members know directly when this funding will be available through Space2Grow, so keep an eye out in our newsletters, newsflashes and WhatsApp.
