2021 Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon in schools

#GiveLocal and Support the Space2Grow Children & Young People Fund!

Schools across the country will be taking part in the 2021 Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon in schools with children and young people of all ages and abilities signed up to run, jog, walk or wheel 2.6 miles between 27th September and 22nd October.

Last year more than 100,000 children took part in the initiative and raised money for good causes in the process. The first 500,000 children to take part this year will receive a free commemorative pin badge and there are lots of resources available to help make the event a success. If your school is yet to register for the event, you can sign up here.

We are asking schools who are taking part to raise money for the Space2Grow Children & Young People’s Fund and support the fantastic work Young Barnet Foundation members are delivering for children and young people to make our community safer, stronger and more connected.

We believe that all children and young people should have access to activities, opportunities and support services which meet their needs. Through the Space2Grow Fund, Young Barnet Foundation supports local charities, community groups and social enterprises who work with children and young people in the borough.

Since 2017, Young Barnet Foundation has awarded nearly three quarters of a million pounds of Space2Grow funding including £200,000 for programmes which offer children and young people in receipt of free school meals free access to enriching activities and a healthy lunch during the 2021 school holidays.

If your school would like to raise money for the Space2Grow Children & Young People’s Fund, please contact info@youngbarnetfoundation.org.uk or call us on 0203 621 6090. Our mascot Barnie the Bear is on standby to visit your school and cheer your students on!
