Rozerin's Work Experience Day 3: Work in the Office

I woke up in the morning amazed at the fact that it was the third day of my work experience already. Today I knew exactly what I was expected to do. Unfortunately, I never got to finish my third task on Tuesday, so I was determined to get in and make sure I finished that on time as I knew it was important to Sarah.

One of the major things I learnt working with the Young Barnet Foundation was that the work we produce as individuals will affect the whole team, this was a very important motivation factor.

As usual I got in and everyone greeted me with their warm smiles. Then Jan got the laptop ready for me and I dived straight into my work. I focused on trying to get the summary of Monday’s questions and answers finished. When I was first told I was going be writing up the summary I had the belief that I would breeze through the task, much to my surprise gravely mistaken. Writing the answers was easy, but I learnt that reading different people’s handwritings is not as easy as it looks, but with the collective help of the team I managed to overcome that obstacle. This was probably by far the longest task that I was given during my work experience however once that was out of the way it was time for me to write my review for Tuesday.

Writing the second review was a lot easier than the first one. These allowed me to reflect on what I had done during my work experience.

In between my work, Emma and Sara educated me on a lot which is happening within Barnet. Meanwhile, I also discovered out that there was no limit to finding out everything Sara is involved in, she is probably by far the most proactive person I have ever met in my life. The most interesting fact was that Sara was planning to run for council.

The most significant part of today was our discussions about issues concerning our community and of course the positive as well.

We want to give every young person the opportunity to achieve. We can’t do this without your help.

From donating money, online or texting to donate, large or small, you can help create a brighter future for Barnet’s youth.
