Space2Grow #22 - Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) Fund, Easter 2022
BACE Holidays is a project delivered in partnership with Barnet Council and funded by the Department for Education to offer children and young people who currently receive free school meals access to enriching activities and a healthy lunch over the holidays.
Space 2 Grow#22 is the latest instalment of holiday activity grants to distribute central government funding to Young Barnet Foundation members delivering engaging activities and healthy meals during the Easter 2022 school holiday period.
As a result of this programme children who attend these events will:
Eat more healthily over the school holidays
Be more active during the school holidays
Take part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character and wellbeing along with their wider educational attainment
Be safe and not to be socially isolated
Have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition
Be more engaged with school and other local services
We also want to ensure that the families who participate in this programme:
Develop their understanding of nutrition and food budgeting
Are signposted towards other information and support e.g. health
Employment and education

Applications are invited from Young Barnet Foundation Members to deliver engaging activities and healthy meals during the Winter 2021 school holiday period (Monday 20th December - Friday 31st December). Please start by downloading and reading the following documents:

Maximum any one award: Allocated on capacity of each applicant

Following the summer HAF Programme the Department of Education have made some changes to the programme specification. These are all set out in the Briefing Document but applicants must be aware that;
It is a requirement that Hot Food must be provided for the Winter Holiday period
The model for delivery is a minimum of 4 hours for 4 days during the Winter Holiday period Monday 20th December -Friday 31st December
Attendees must book on to the full 4 days of provision (not individual days)
M&E Requirements; Providers must ensure that they provide us with Dates of Birth and Free School Meal status on the Attendee Data Form. Full details of M&E requirements will be confirmed to you if your application is successful but is outlined in the Eligibility Criteria document

A reminder that operational staff leading on your Winter HAF delivery require specific qualifications such as food handling and safeguarding training. Please ensure it is your on-the-ground team involved in the direct delivery (rather than your management/admin team) who hold these qualifications.
