Space2Grow #15 - 2021 Training and Development Micro Fund

Space 2 Grow#15 launched in 2021 for members to apply for up to £250 in a quick and simple way. Applications were invited for training and development of the organisation.

Young Barnet Foundation are aware that self development of the personnel within the organisation can often be hard to either a) get funding for or b) justify when budgets are tight. This fund was to help members invest in their people, be it staff, volunteers or Trustees to help the ongoing development of their organisation.

This round does not have an independent funding panel. The grants officer review applications on an periodic basis, ensure minimum requirements are met before getting awards signed off by a trustee.

Total Amount Awarded: £2,881.00*

Maximum any one award: £250

*Unspent funds are moved to the 2022 Micro Fund.

Space2Grow #15 - Awards

Give Help Share – (£250) - NCVO Fundraising Training for 3 staff members.

Community Network Group - (£250) - Two sessions with an IT expert for 18 staff and volunteers on e-safety, working and delivering online sessions.

Number Champions - (£240) - An SSS Learning course for continued CPD training for the Safeguarding lead.

We are GROW – (£240) - Three staff on School of Life's training on psychological and therapeutic insight in the workplace

Living Way Ministries – (£250) - 6 staff on food safety course by Highfield learning.

Express Tuition – (£250) - Teaching consultant to deliver to 20 staff and volunteers on effective teaching skills, including on-line delivery.

Phoenix Canoe Club  – (£250) - Contribution to a young person (aged 16) to be be put through ta 5 day Dinghy Instructor course so he can work at the centre.

SOTO Inspires CIC  – (£245) - 5 staff to attend 3 courses, on Safeguarding, Covid Compliance and Food Hygiene.

Fun Unique Social Enterprise C.I.C. - (£216) - 10 staff received Food Hygiene training

Community Souls - (£240) - Thinking Environment Foundation Course Programme for senior member of staff.

8th Hendon Scouts - (£200) - 12 leaders to gain a NSRA YPS Pistol qualification

Belifted - (£250) - Mix of NCVO and Small Charities Coalition training on organisational due diligence and governance.

Space2Grow#15 delivered with thanks to;

Donations to and Fundraising by Young Barnet Foundation. This includes the fund raised by JCoSS school in 2019 as one of their Charites of The Year. It had been the intention to distribute their donation in 2020 but due to Covid-19 this has been delayed until early 2021.

Space2Grow, Space2Grow Childrens and Young People's Fund and Logo are branding of Young Barnet Foundation and relate to the small grant funding rounds distributed by Young Barnet Foundation on behalf of the charity and our partners.
