2025 Main Grant - Space2Grow #40
For projects starting from 1st March 2026, this grant will award up to £10,000 for Young Barnet Foundation members to deliver activities, opportunities and support services meeting the needs of Children and Young people in the London Borough of Barnet. Projects will need to demonstrate how they able to support the Mental Health support needs of participants, specifically:

Additionally, we ask applicants to focus on projects which address the following themes:

For our 2025 Main Grant, Young Barnet Foundation are delighted to announce that a total of 10 projects were awarded or part awarded a total of £70,000 from this fund, which aims to align with Barnet Council’s Family Services Mental Health provision and help reduce CAMHS waiting lists through alignment of projects with the Family Services THRIVE framework. Details of the projects awarded funding are below:
Awards:
Rephael House - £10,000
A specialist coaching programme designed to empower neurodiverse Children & Young People aged 5-18 to understand their diagnoses and the impact this may have on their emotional regulation.
Fresh Arts CIC - £6,000
Creative, Drama based support programme for Primary School aged Children in two local schools, working with small groups of up to 12 children and 1 to 1 support where required, as identified by School SENDCO. Learning objectives will include (but not be limited to) where and how to seek help, role play in how to ask for help, understanding emotions, self regulation and actions that can be taken to improve mental health.
Noa Girls - £7,800
Provision of a structured interim “Wait Well” programme to Girls and their families while they await access to Noa’s full clinical services.
Fun Unique Social Enterprise CIC - £7,950
Delivery of continued 1 to 1 and group mentoring sessions through their “Mindful Spaces” programme to Children and Young People living in Grahame Park and West Hendon, with an aim to strengthen emotional resilience and wellbeing, and reduce local referrals to Crisis and Mental Health Services
Community Network Group - £7,000
A programme focussing on photo journalling and using green space for community walks to help Children and Young People in particular from Migrant, Refugee and Global Majority backgrounds in Barnet to build confidence, talk about mental health and learn practical coping strategies.
ADDISS - £10,000
Provision of ADHD youth cafes providing targeted mental health support and specialised goals based help, using both 1 to 1 and peer support models.
Barnet Community Projects - £5,000
Working with local schools to deliver a flag American Football programme which will also include elements of mental health support incorporated into the sessions; coaches will have Mental Health First Aid training, as well as guest sport speakers with lived experience of mental health issues to speak about coping strategies.
SBWA - £5,000
Provision of “Kickstart Wellbeing” social inclusion football and mental health programme for Young boys aged 12-16 from a Global Majority background, including group mentoring and wellbeing workshops in a culturally – appropriate, youth led space.
Art Against Knives - £6,666
Using funding to embed specialist therapeutic support for Young People into existing creative community spaces including a weekly hair / nail bar for girls and young women and weekly professional music studio for Young people aged 11-16.
Unitas - £4,584
Provision of Mental Health First Aid support, 1 to 1 mentoring and small group programmes within existing dedicated SEND provision.
We continue to be thankful to Barnet Council Family Services for this funding to deliver these projects, and wish our funded members every success with their projects, which will be delivered throughout the next year.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Grantees may view the Monitoring and Evaluation requirements by downloading the PDF copy of the M&E form (which has also been provided in your award email).
At the end of your project, an automated email request to complete the online M&E form will be sent to you, and it is therefore vital that members update us with any changes to their proposed delivery dates as soon as possible.
